No. FairSpec Ratings are proprietary estimates from algorithmic analysis — an informed opinion, not legal compliance advice or regulatory certification such as CE, UL or FCC. Always verify critical compliance data (RoHS, REACH, export controls) with the original manufacturer before manufacturing or shipping.
FairSpec evaluates each component across four dimensions — Repairability, Reliability, Sustainability and Total Cost of Ownership — drawing on authoritative compliance, lifecycle and supply-chain sources, with AI inference used only to fill gaps and always flagged. Each dimension gives a numeric sub-score; the weighted composite yields a GOLD, SILVER, BRONZE or UNQUALIFIED rating.
Live distributor and manufacturer data via Nexar/Octopart — over 95 million components across 11,000+ manufacturers and 700+ distributors — cross-referenced against restricted-substance and lifecycle sources. Scoring reflects what the market is doing today, not a static snapshot.
Both. Paste a single part number or upload a full Bill of Materials (CSV or Excel) — FairSpec scores at any granularity.
Add parts as a single part number, several plain-text part numbers, or a CSV or Excel file (with a column named PN, P/N or Part_Number — we map the rest). Expert and Enterprise plans can also submit via API. Up to 10,000 parts and 5 MB per file. Note: PDF is an export format, not an upload format.
Today Selectronyx screens against RoHS, REACH SVHC, TSCA, California Proposition 65 and UFLPA, plus lifecycle and obsolescence status and supply-chain resilience. Statuses are distributor-declared signals compiled into a sourced record for your review, not legal determinations. ESPR, CSRD, CBAM and EU Digital Product Passport (DPP) readiness are on our roadmap. Selectronyx does not generate finished DPP documents or CBAM filings.
Today, FairSpec screens components against RoHS and REACH restricted-substance status and manufacturer declarations. Granular, per-substance screening down to CAS-number level is on our roadmap.
We're actively expanding what FairSpec covers. Planned for 2026–27: per-substance screening to CAS-number level, global PFAS tracking, EU Digital Product Passport (DPP) readiness, and deeper ESPR and CSRD support. Selectronyx already captures component-level data signals that can feed future DPP, CSRD and ESPR work, but does not currently generate finished DPP documents or CBAM filings. We add coverage where it genuinely changes a sourcing decision — and we'll always be clear about what's live versus in development.
We're an EU-based company (Netherlands) and process personal data under the GDPR and Dutch data-protection law; our marketing analytics are cookieless. We never sell your identifiable BOM data. You can request access, correction, deletion or a copy of your data at privacy@selectronyx.com. As an early-stage company, the core principles are in place today and full formal GDPR compliance is an active work in progress.
Your BOM data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256), with role-based access controls and regular backups; our security practices are aligned with the principles of ISO/IEC 27001 (we follow the framework and are working toward certification; not yet certified). Your identifiable BOM data is never sold or shared. We may use anonymized, aggregated data — where no individual user or BOM can be identified — to improve our scoring and market-intelligence features, as described in our Terms.
You do. Selectronyx processes your BOM to produce your scores and reports; we acquire no ownership of the BOM, the reports, or the inferences drawn for your account.

On paid plans, monitored parts are re-checked weekly for lifecycle and risk changes.
Expert includes read API access for programmatic scoring and retrieval. Enterprise adds read/write or custom access — submitting BOMs and writing back scores, including ERP/PLM integrations (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Windchill, Arena, Teamcenter). API documentation is provided on activation.
Yes — Selectronyx reads standard BOM exports from tools like Octopart, Z2Data, Trusted Parts and Sphera BOMcheck. Onboarding maps your custom fields into the Selectronyx report format; migration assistance is included from the Expert tier upwards.
Yes. The free Basic tier includes a full FairSpec score on your BOM, and there's a complete sample analysis so you can see the depth before committing.
